Antigua
Right, so the bus to Antigua showed up and turned out to be a private taxi….mega score. i was guessing it was gonna be one of the so called “chicken busses” so was glad that it wasnt though. and it only cost $10…that makes a trip from Guatemala city to Antigua cheaper than the trip from the airpoirt to my first hostel both in Guatemala city…ridic…but then i was ripped off the first time. i was taken straight to my hostel in Antigua as well….jungle party hostel. this was recomended to me by charlee and esme and it is an ok place, im sure i will survive, but at the moment im not liking it too much and cant wait to start the tour.
im in a mixed dorm with a guy on the bunk above me, and 2 girls….i dont know about anyone else, but nobody has really talked yet. also…when the guy gets up on the bunk above me the whole bed moves, properly. it sways cozits well old.
i braved havng a shower…realised how many spiders there are in this place too. but then i do have to remind myself of how little i am paying to stay here. i forced myself to have some food as well, again, ate at the hostel, but i didnt eat much, still not got the appetite back. may order free breakfats in the morning.
i kinda just wanna go to bed but its only about 9pm here so everyone will think im a freak. but i dont have much else to do. thank god this internet is free. otherwise i would just be wollowing even more lol. and its really hard to mingle here coz everyone already seems to have their own friends. and i know i should, but at the moment i dont have the confidence to just start talking to big groups of people…its ok if there is only 1 person, but whole groups. nah. and in the cafe area they are all watching a film which makes it even harder. meh.
at the moment i just want tomorrow morning to come and then i just want that day to go…i want the tour. i really hope i will be able to meet up with the ukranians coz tghey will make saturday go quicker at least.

OK babes, so I dont’ know my Antigua from my Antigua? Well you just didn’t tell anybody that you were going there and that it is in Guautemala. I now know it is the ancient capital of Guatemala and nestles between three volcanoes, the most active of which is Fuego. As you were told it ‘grumbles’ a lot and last erupted in 1973, I believe it might be seen to steam at the top??
As you say a dream for a geo student. On the tour keep up your diary and make ‘observations’ ‘cos you may be able to use on your course. Who knows?
Have you got a funcky toy or ‘keep sake’ – play with it and someone may latch on to you to discover what it is? An avenue to brake the ice????? Or just ask any pair whether they are going on your tour?
Who are the Ukranians?

So how is it all going?
I guess you met all the tour people yesterday and start the volcanoes trail today – well in a few hours time, once you actually get up.
I’ve been a bit busy the last few days, what with Uncle Tony & Auntie Anne coming to stay. I thought I’d save a bit of time on Friday by doing the food shop after work so I’d have more time on Saturday. I was doing well and had got about half of it when I went to put something in my trolley and realised it wasn’t my trolley. I then realised that the persons whose trolley was left must have taken my trolley by mistake, so I spent the next 10mins trying to find who had walked off with it. I didn’t of course & by the time it was too late to start again so left empty handed but very annoyed. Yes you may laugh.
I think I have managed to get a frame for your Vietnamese drawings os that is good & like your Dad says tomorrow we will try to apply for Uni accomodation but there is no guarantee of any as you probably live too close.
Anyway gotta go & enjoy the sunny bank holiday weather.
Hope the volcanoes are spectacular.

Posted 1 year, 6 months agoyer i am still alive dont worry….sorry i wold have sent you an email yestrday but we were travelling for abot 12 hors…..left at 7am and didnt get to utila till abot 5 and was knackered so didnt really get a chance to get online. and then diving etc so have only been able to get on now. miss yor face. cant wait till my phone works again. also….i just figred…if my phone doesnt work here what am i gonna do abot yor birthday coz no singla here blates means none on inca trail lol. hopefllyther will be internet :s

Hope you are feeling much better now as your dad says its all the upset of leaving Mark traveling and food!! you dont need colonic erocation or how ever you spell it lol. Ive just had a weeks hol i couldnt of picked better weather its been wonderful. ive been out to buy my wedding outfit for my son Garys wedding Bev and i had a day in the city 8hrs it cost us £20 to get off the car park!!! How many miles could you travel for that in Antigua!!
Did you get to see the volcano?? Hope there are plenty of pictures being taken.
Hurry home coz Steers Burger Meals are 2 for 1 we have some vouchers Bev and i went there Thursday we could go there and have a catch up. What date do you come home? Let me know coz i will help your mum with the shopping!!!!! I will stand guard of the trolley!!!!!!lol
